Ronald Arnholm, world renowned type designer who is 70 years old and my Advanced Typography professor. Our first assignment is a logotype for ourselves. I don’t even know how he knew this about me, but it’s awesome, because when he came to my desk to check out my work, he said this and then suggested that I “have more fun with it” so I could use it for the future. Nothing beats when school + music become one! |
It is kind of embarrassing when a person hears a song you wrote about them and gets the wrong impression that you’re a really intense person, when in actuality you’re pretty normal, it’s just that singing something like “You’re all I’ve ever wanted” has a better ring to it than “You’re pretty cool and I like you enough to want to date you at least for a little while unless it doesn’t work out, which is totally fine.”
Seriously though. How many times do I have to tell you to go to your local comic shoppe and buy this book. There are five. You’re already way behind, but you can catch up in a couple days if you’re dedicated.
PLEASE read this NOW. You will regret not doing it before the movie comes out.

Ramona, will you…will you take me to subspace
HOLY SHIT this girl is the perfect Ramona Flowers!
I’m going to die of happiness when this movie comes out.
In celebration of reaching my goal on Kickstarter, I’ll be performing every song I’ve ever written LIVE from my living room on Sunday 8/30 at 5:00pm EST. Tune in to www.allisonweiss.tv, where you can chat with me, request songs, and have a blast.
Save the date! As of now, this is the official time…unless something crazy happens and I have to change the start hour. Get ready!
I need to address the ending of this tour on my blog. I know I didn’t really post a lot of diary-style updates like I usually do, and I’m sorry for that. The honest to god reason is because I was having too much fun and forgot about internet. (gasp! is this possible?!)
The rest of the tour was just as amazing as the first half. I basically spent two weeks HAB (having a blast) with my BFFs (best friends forever). The craziest part about the whole thing is that I barely knew Bess and Lelia before the tour started, and now I feel like I’ve known them forever.
I was having so much fun I even lost my voice at one point. Here’s the thing about me. I love to talk and laugh and scream and express my joy in the most vocal way possible. It’s extremely difficult for me to keep quiet when I’m around people I love. I’m pretty intense. Luckily my tourmates were a great support team and helped me through the rough couple days I spent in silence and I was able to return in full force at the end!
Fuck, I really miss them. I’ve never been on a tour like the Quest For Glory. We were laughing almost constantly. We group-hugged at least once a day. We made up our own goddamn language. It was the BTE. Never forget. Me and Bess have the same SOH and both want a wrinkle-free life. RIP Lelia’s hat. RIP Tori Amos (big mistake!).
We often joked that if we tried to explain how awesome it was, nobody would believe us. They’d think we were overcompensating and that there was no way it could’ve been that good. Well it was. It’s going to take a lot to top this tour. Can’t wait for round two, you guys!
There I go again, getting all sentimental. As usual. Aw shucks.
