Allison Weiss - “I’m Ready” - Nov 28,2009

More videos of myself! I love how everything gets a little bit faster and crazier when I play it live. This was the most fun ever.

Dear Allison, that should be your next album title.
This is an open letter to Allison Weiss, because I wanted to publicly proclaim my love and affection for all the world to see.
I should be really upset that you stole my favorite t-shirt.  But I can’t, because I can’t be mad at you.  I had the best time ever while you were here, and I just wanted to take a second to thank you, because you are the epitome of what a fellow musician should be.  You are supportive, encouraging, positive, fun, and you work harder than anyone I’ve ever met.  You care about being professional, and you care about making sure everyone is having the BNE (best night ever). Everyone knows you’re going to succeed, because everyone knows you deserve it.  You write really great songs.  You’re doing really incredible things, all the time.  I don’t know how you do it, but thank you for letting me be a part of it.  NYC can’t wait to have you back for good.

There is a tiny person under my pillow right now. I stole that too. I plan to steal so many more things from you over the course of our friendship. Thanks for that letter. I’m glad we’re in eachother’s lives. Now can we please go back to bickering before people start getting the wrong idea?

Obligatory Emotional Post-NYC Blog Entry

Now that I’ve spent the day doing nothing aside from restocking my fridge and putting on pajamas, I think I’m ready to make my typical sappy nostalgic post-nyc blog entry. I still can’t believe my life, you guys.

In case you didn’t notice, I spent last week up in New York again. I’ve been once a month since August. It’s insane and impractical but I’m addicted and there’s nothing I can do about it. This past trip was one of the best so far. I attended two birthday parties, ate blueberry pancakes, played music in a sunny Brooklyn apartment, formed a band, navigated the city better than ever, partied hard, partied soft, hung out on a rooftop, saw the Thanksgiving parade, laughed harder than I thought I could, met people who changed my life, released a record, played a sold out show, and generally roamed the streets like a champion.

The CD release party at Rockwood was amazing. I think my favorite part was being up on stage with Bess, Chris, Adam, and Lauren backing me up. What an honor to play with such a group. Not only are they some of the most talented people I’ve ever known, but I fucking love the shit out of them too. And thank you everyone who came out to the show! Sorry to those who couldn’t get in… bigger venue next time, right guys?!

It’s crazy how much my life has changed in one year. 2009 has been too real. So thanks again, New York, for stealing my heart and gripping it tight. I swear we’ll be together soon. Wait for me!
